Sol is a table lamp designed to reflect the solar experience in its essence, interpreted through a concise composition of light and form.

The project stems from initial research into the regions near the Arctic Circle, where the prolonged absence of sunlight during winter has inspired broader considerations on the symbolic and sensorial rapport between people and the sun.

Sol aims to expand this rapport within the indoor environment, by providing a powerful and captivating atmosphere throughout the night.

Initial reflections on the product were focused on identifying the underlying essence that the lamp should capture, and the narrative its design needed to convey visually.

The lamp's purpose to act upon the absence of sunlight (both metaphorically and concretely) directly influenced the ideation phase of the project, to explore different shapes and arrangements close to the idea of the sun in its simplest form.
